Dad: Nearing food coma. Me: devising a plan to steal the last roll. Danielle: I hate the world. Lacey: Life is beautiful!
I wanted to write something epic today, on the holiday centered around being thankful. But I have written so many Thankful Thursdays that I think all the epic has left me! I have no epic, I only have simple. Today, I’m thankful for so so much. But in the words of my friend, Stephanie, “my ultimate thanks goes to God.” For without Him, I would have nothing to be thankful for.
I hope you have a wonderful holiday today and that you have much to be thankful for. I’ll leave you with a poem…
Thanksgiving Poem (author unknown)
Twas the night of Thanksgiving, but I just couldn’t sleep.
I tried counting backwards, I tried counting sheep.
The leftovers beckoned, the dark meat and white.
But I fought the temptation with all of my might.
Tossing and turning with anticipation,
The thought of a snack became infatuation.
So I raced to the kitchen, flung open the door
And gazed at the fridge, full of goodies galore.
I gobbled up turkey and buttered potatoes,
Pickles and carrots, beans and tomatoes.
I felt myself swelling so plump and so round
“Til all of a sudden…I rose off the ground.
I crashed through the ceiling, floating into the sky
With a mouthful of pudding and a handful of pie.
But, I managed to yell as I soared past the trees…
Happy Eating To All..Pass The Cranberries, Please.
May your stuffing be tasty, your turkey be plump.
May your potatoes n’ gravy have nary a lump.
May your yams be delicious.. may your pies take the prize.
MAY YOUR THANKSGIVING DINNER STAY OFF OF YOUR THIGHS!

LOL, glad the hubby approves!
Your vintage family photos always make me smile. If I were brave enough to post any from my youth, I would resemble your sister, Danielle, and have a scowl on my face, probably thinking, “What, we need a traditional Thanksgiving portrait. I am so above this.” LOL
Hope you had a great day!
I’d love to see them, even if you were scowling. :)

No, it’s a popular one found online but as far as I know, the author is unknown, hence the “author unknown.” :) Thanks Barbara!
