Chocolate Mocha Punch

Seriously, a recipe today! :D I drafted this November 14th so it’s about time I posted it-lol.  I’ve shared a few of my friend, Teri’s, recipes before (see them all here), and this one is just as wonderful as the others.  She made this punch for my last baby shower and it was delicious! I’m sure once you scan the ingredients, you won’t have a hard time figuring out why.  It’s very decadent!  She also made it for her daughter’s wedding and the holiday party at her home last week, and I think it’s great for any occassion.  New Year’s Eve, maybe? :)

3 quarts water
1 cup Nesquik
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup instant coffee granules (decaf is fine)
1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream
1/2 gallon chocolate ice cream
2 cups whipped cream (Teri uses Cool Whip)
Chocolate curls for garnish

In a large saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Remove from heat and add Nesquik, sugar and coffee; stir until dissolved. Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight. About 30 minutes before serving, pour into a punch bowl. Add ice cream by scoopfuls, stir until partially melted. Garnish with dollops of whipped cream and chocolate curls.

About Veronica

I have a kitchen addiction and love to collect & share recipes. My passion is baking but I love to cook as well. The only thing I don't like to do in the kitchen is wash dishes, but my husband generally does them for me in exchange for his dinner.

  5. Hi Veronica! I have been making this punch since I first spotted it in a Taste of Home magazine years ago. I have never met anyone who does not love it. Children like it too, so I use decaffeinated coffee in mine. I usually make it for Christmas, but it would be great for a wedding, baby shower, birthday party, I’m home alone and no one will ever know :) or any special occasion. Or who needs a special occasion :) Sometimes I lightly drizzle the dollops of whipped cream with chocolate syrup instead of the chocolate curls. It is delicious and one of my all time favorite recipes! I like the fact that you can mix the chocolate base mixture a day ahead and store it overnight in the refrigerator. I like to put mine in the freezer for about 1 to 1-1/2 hours before serving so it is nice and cold, I set the timer so I don’t forget about it. I think everyone should make this for their New Years celebration and make it a part of their New Years resolution each year from now on. It is delicious! Happiest New Year to you and your family!
