Are you ready for a cookie swap?

Posted on

Last year after I found out about the fabulous Great Blogger Cookie Swap, I organized one for all those that didn’t have blogs but still wanted to participate in a nation-wide cookie swap.  Well we’re back in business, kids!  If you’re a blogger, you can head on over to Love and Olive Oil or The Little Kitchen to get all the details and sign up, but if you’re a non-blogger that would like to participate in a cookie swap, you’ve come to the right place.

This swap will work like last year’s for the most part, and here’s the breakdown:  Sign up.  Get matched to three other participants.  Ship a dozen delicious cookies to each.  Receive a dozen scrum-diddly-upmtious cookies from each of your matches in return.  That’s a whole lotta deliciousness and love being spread throughout the US!

As before, the purpose of my swap is not only to spread joy and cheer through the sharing of cookies, but to support the US Postal Service.  (If you’re new to my blog, I work for the postal service as a data conversion operator at one of the only two remaining Remote Encoding Centers.  Basically that’s a glorified title that means I type a lot.  I started The Postcard Project to renew excitement about mailing postcards and letters, and supporting the postal service in general.)  Last year The Great Blogger Cookie Swap generated 1,640 packages of cookies, which ain’t nothin’ to sneeze at when it comes to revenue for the postal service.  The Postcard Project Cookie Swap generated 162 extra dozen shipped, which I’m pretty proud of, and I thank all of you who spread the cookie love with me last year.

Important Dates

Sign Up Deadline: Friday, November 9
Receive Matches: Monday, November 12
Shipment Deadline: Wednesday, December 5

If this is sounding as good to you as it does to me, you can click here to get all the nitty gritty and sign up.  Let’s get this cookie swap party started!

About Veronica

I have a kitchen addiction and love to collect & share recipes. My passion is baking but I love to cook as well. The only thing I don't like to do in the kitchen is wash dishes, but my husband generally does them for me in exchange for his dinner.

  1. That is a very neat thing you are doing! Since I am cutting back on my food intake I won’t be joining but I know you are going to have a lot fun with this! :) I do support the US Postal Service. I love those Priority Mail Flat Rate boxes and use them all the time to ship gifts to family and friends. I can go on line and print my shipping labels and pay for it so I don’t have to stand in line at the Post Office.

I posted a wonderful cookie recipe today that you might like,

    • Thank you for supporting the postal service! :) I too love the flat rate boxes but they’re also my undoing b/c I have to “get my money’s worth” and cram as much heavy stuff into one as I can, meaning I spend a lot more money trying to save postage! haha! Thanks for the link–I’ll go check them out!

  2. I just signed up but was I supposed to sign up at the other people sites if I was a blogger? Hope I didn’t mess up.

    • Debbi, it’s totally your choice. You’re welcome to join mine and I’m happy to have you, but just know that the majority that sign up with mine will be non-bloggers. I participated in my own last year and the cookies I received were actually better than those I received through the blogger swap BUT I can’t guarantee everyone is as fabulous as my matches last year. If you’d rather be part of one with bloggers, you can just hit the “unsubscribe here” button on your confirmation email and then sign up at one of the other blogs. Your choice! :)

  5. I like to sign up Veronica…but is the form you have just for non bloggers, cuz I would prefer to do this through you instead of through Lindsay or the other blog…let me know. A dozen cookies would fit PERFECTLY in the small flat rate box…just saying!

    • If you’d like to join my swap, feel free! I’d be glad to have you. :) Like I told Debbi, mine will be mostly non-bloggers so it’s up to you who you’d like to swap with. And yes! I mailed all my cookies in flat-rate small boxes last year and they all arrived in great condition-it was fabulous. :)
